While the season has come to an abrupt end during this unprecedented time, we want to take a moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished in the past year.
On April 3, 2019, our two associations, Saanich and Victoria Minor Hockey, voted to create a combined MHA. Our membership voted overwhelmingly in favour of moving ahead together.
Since then, we have created a new name and brand, unveiled new uniforms, formed a new board, recruited hundreds of volunteers and developed an on-ice program for over 830 players on 50 teams.
It has not always gone smoothly, and there were hiccups, but we are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our coaches, managers, treasurers, safeties, divisional coordinators, tournament volunteers, board, officials, parents and players. We could not have done any of this without your tireless support and participation.
We are disappointed that we will need to cancel our first Admirals awards ceremony that was scheduled for April 5, 2020. We still want you to submit your nominations (please see links below) by April 3, 2020 and we will send an email announcement in a few weeks with all of our inaugural winners. Everyone still deserves to be recognized for the effort.
Thank you for giving your time and talents to create a fun and safe environment for all of our players to develop their passion for hockey.
Enjoy your off-season. See you in September.
